Elladee Brown giving a high 5 at Day 1 of the 2025 MegaVolt

The 2025 MegaVolt eMTB Festival ePowered by Bosch kicked off in Naramata with sunny skies, stoke in the air, and a warm welcome as riders rolled in for registration. In true BC Bike Race style, we began with a rider orientation to cover safety, course details and set the tone for an epic weekend of riding and community.

Riders hit the trails for the NOBL Wheels Shakeout Ride, a perfect way to check out the 3 Blind Mice trail network and make sure bikes were dialed for the weekend.

For those new to eMTB, the pros from Sweet Skills led a beginners skills session covering everything you need to know for a great weekend in Naramata.

The highlight of the day? The OneUp Components Hill Climb Challenge. A dozen brave riders took on a series of increasingly gnarly uphill features, including going up a 3-foot drop. Trials skills were the secret weapon, and the crowd brought the energy with heckling, cheers and gasps at every attempt.

Taking first, second and third in the challenge were Dan Harder, John Musicco and Specialized pro rider, Ryder Knoll.

“The MegaVolt weekend is always something special and we’re stoked to kick it off with the Shakeout Ride, said Bob Jones of NOBL Wheels. “It’s the perfect way to get the crew dialed and the stoke high. Jumping into the Hill Climb Challenge was a blast and a wild look at what eMTBs are truly capable of.”

Après vibes were high back at the festival grounds with hugs, high-fives and stories flowing as alumni and new friends gathered over post-ride pizza, local beer from Cannery Brewing, and gin cocktails from Copper Penny Distillery.

With Day 2 bringing the Specialized eFondo and the Trailforks Adventure Challenge, the excitement is just getting started. Stay tuned!
